When I'm not sleeping, due to my on again off again insomnia, I'm usually reminiscing. Today my reminiscing revolves around a couple of my dearest friends. Let me be frank: I really, really miss them. I lost 3 of my best girlfriends to the greater cause of spreadin' the good word; they became sister missionaries. Funny how I always thought I'd join them...but here I am 21 and 4 months, no plans, no papers. I'm losing another at the end of Winter semester. In all honesty, I'm not really losing them-they're coming back, and I remind myself of that often. Sometimes I wonder if we'll pick up right where we'll left off...maybe they'll be too "holier than thou" for me. Will we have an awkward phase? Will they incessantly spout off mission stories? Will I struggle to keep up?
OH BAH!
I just anxiously await the day when Rachel Tan calls me up and says, "JESS-LET'S GO SHOPPING!!!" Then we'll jump in my trusty Corolla, put the windows down and blast the most ISH song of the moment, while dancing like the fools we are. Then we'll pick up some burgers that we won't be able to finish at Red Robin and talk about boys and gossip about all them other fools. It's gonna be GREAT.
